Wareham Healthcare Forum Group
A group of representatives with appropriate experience from the local community have formed a group called the Wareham Healthcare Forum Group to take a role in the identification of the needs of Wareham patients and to lobby the powers that be to ensure these needs are met. The group members are:
- Peter Booth
- Sheila Lancefield (Chair) click here to contact by email
- Gabrielle Henstridge
- Mary Wainwright
- Yvonne Hunter
- Charles Miller
- Helen Geach
- Cherry Bartlett
They have achieved a refurbishment of the Health Centre building which includes new toilets, replacement of metal-framed windows for double-glazed units, new flooring and decoration. If you would like to get involved with the group, please contact Sheila Lancefield.
Other projects that the Forum Group is involved in include challenging the cessation of the leg ulcer clinic and reviewing dementia care in the Wareham area. They have produced a useful Dementia Care leaflet for patients and their carers – Click Here to access the leaflet.
Virtual Patient Participation Group
They have also been active in the formation of a virtual Patient Participation Group to engage more patients to get involved with shaping the services provided in the locality. More members are always welcome. Contact is by email, or telephone if you prefer, and there are no actual meetings to attend; you are asked for your opinion on matters relating to the practice and NHS services. Please contact Sheila Lancefield if you would like to join either group.
