Telephone system

Our telephone system is cloud-based with 6 incoming lines. Calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes. The system will present the caller with the following options
1. To cancel an appointment
2. Speak to a receptionist
3. For home visit requests and general enquiries
4. For information about hospital referrals

5. For admin queries, such as private requests

Prescription requests are not taken over the telephone, patients are encouraged to register for online access to order medication.

The call handlers deal with complex requests which can delay the answering of calls. If the caller is on hold for ten minutes, they will be queued for a call back. They will retain their place in the queue and the phone system will automatically ring back when they are first in the queue. If the caller misses the call-back, it will be necessary for them to call again.

Once the 6 lines are taken up with callers, the engaged tone will sound. Please call back later.
